Can't get enough of Rtk from the books and games? Well there's videos too. Being able to see the characters you read about in the video/comics add a whole new favor to the all words novel. We are better able to relate more to the characters and have a sense of how they look like which was not possible from reading the novel. In addition it aids us in remembering the large number of characters mentioned in the novel together with the environment, background etc..... Click on the thumbnails for a bigger picture.
The Epic Drama Series
Produced and filmed in China, the eighty four episode long drama series and was first aired on Singapore tv in 1995 and another rerun in 1997 at two episodes per week. The drama series is another masterpiece of work and cover a lot of the events mentioned in the novel except towards the very end. Accuracy to details and historical events are very high. Available in bilingual vcd format; chinese and cantonese.Anime/Cartoon
A japanese production. It is available in a bilingual vcd format; japanese and chinese. A bit exaggerated and fictitious. The anime/cartoon series is divided into three parts and start from the Yellow Scarves Rebellion to the point when Zhuge Liang passed away. Although it does portray the entire novel it is okay. What i do not like about this cartoon series is the introduction of Guan Yu's adopted daughter who is almost as highly skilled as Guan Yu to add more "spice" to the show. I know Rtk purists out there will scoff at thisOverall the cartoon is a nice show. Though most of the fighting scenes is a bit exaggerated, it amused me nevertheless and is entertaining. Afterall it s a cartoon series. Below are the cd picture covers of the three part cartoon series:
